Saturday 22nd: Meet at Kent Train Station at 09:30.
Sunday 23rd: Return to Kent Station on 12:40 train.
No uniform is needed this weekend, but neckerchief must be worn at all times.
Gear list for weekend
- Water bottle
- Full change of clothes
- Spare shoes
- Sleeping bag
- Sleeping mat
- Cup, bowl, plate, knife, fork, spoon
- Wash gear with small towel
- Hat and gloves
The group will not take responsibility for any electronic equipment brought to or damaged while on camp and we ask that all such equipment should not be brought. All gear should be clearly labelled with your child’s name.
Any issues or questions contact your section leaders.
To keep things sensible this weekend, can we ask that all cars park on the left side of the car park at all times?
This will leave the right side for the coaches. It will make life easier for all – and more importantly, safer!!
In other words:
Thanks for your help and understanding!!

Don’t forget to pay up via the Easypayments website for the overnight to Mount Melleray before January 13th and email your section Scouter to let them know you are going!
Huge thanks for your patience as we’re ironing out some of the initial teething problems with the system.
As of now, you CAN pay for registration with the system. (It was only showing Spike – registration is now there).
We really appreciate all the feedback – without it, we would never get there!
Anyone at the registration night on Sunday – we hope to have a number of laptops there & will be able to sort any individual issues with the system.
Here in Douglas & St. FinBarre’s Scout group, we’re implementing an online payment system for the group, through a company called Easy Payments Plus.
We’re excited by it, we feel it will give both us and you an easier way to pay & track payments.
In the next short while, you should receive an email from the system, allowing you to activate your account. You should do this – it’s NOT spam!
We KNOW that there may be teething problems while we role this out – please bear with us. We feel it’ll be really worth it on everybody’s part.
Come back with any queries,
What has now become an annual event; our weekend activity to Spike Island has been booked for October 7th – 9th next
Those sections attending from the Friday to the Sunday (Cubs, Scouts, Ventures) will cost €30 per head
The Beaver sections, who will make a day trip event on the Saturday, will cost €10 per head
Closing date, if not full before hand, for members to sign up to this evening is September 30th
We are limited with numbers attending due to the ferry capacity so please speak with your section leader at your next meeting to secure your place. Payment in full to your section leader will secure your place.
Please speak with your section leader ASAP. Some sections have other activities on around this time also

We will be meeting as normal next Friday 23rd but will also be running an activity on Sunday 25th from 1:45-5pm in Oldcourt woods (behind Garryduff sports centre).
There is no cost involved but you will need to drop your child to Oldcourt for 1:45pm.
If your child is attending please email Ronan.
Please give them lunch before they come and pack a snack, water and rain gear (hopefully it won’t be needed!).
