  • Whistle, compass and cubs personal 1st aid kit.

No shorts, only long trousers to be worn.

Some parents are helping with transport on the day, so please do offer if you’re free.

Hi All,

To keep things sensible this weekend, can we ask that all cars park on the left side of the car park at all times?

This will leave the right side for the coaches.  It will make life easier for all – and more importantly, safer!!

In other words:

Frankfield Parking

Thanks for your help and understanding!!

6th Cubs rope bridges for real

Posted by Andrew Breslin | Posted in 6th Cubs | Posted on 13-11-2016

Tomorrow night (Monday 14th) we’ll be putting our rope bridge building into practice by crossing one of the streams in the Mangala wood.

Please have your cub in the car park of the Douglas Community Centre for 7pm.

Weather forecast is reasonable, but it will be dark and chilly so your cub must have the following with them……

1) Hat & gloves
2) Rain coat & waterproof trousers.
3) A torch.
4) Boots/walking shoes, not trainers as contact with cold water is very possible!!
5) High-vis jacket

Parents are welcome to stay and watch and if brave enough are very welcome to try crossing the bridge.

Note: Any adults in attendance must be supervised by a responsible Cub Scout at all times.

We are sending text messages to the 6th Cub parents, but if you’re not getting them please do let us know.

Hi All,

Huge thanks for your patience as we’re ironing out some of the initial teething problems with the system.

As of now, you CAN pay for registration with the system.  (It was only showing Spike – registration is now there).

We really appreciate all the feedback – without it, we would never get there!

Anyone at the registration night on Sunday – we hope to have a number of laptops there & will be able to sort any individual issues with the system.

Enda.

Last Monday evening we issued all the 6th Cubs a calendar of events that we’ll be doing over the coming scouting year.

Please do stick it on your fridge for reference, if it’s been misplaced please print off a copy using the link below.

6th_Cubs_2016_2017_events

Spike Island Trip: As we have to pay for the boat and food before we go, we will need payment for the Spike Island trip by Monday evening at the latest.

Full uniform must be worn next Monday and on the 1st Monday of every month.

Scout Shop have uniform deals on offer. If your new cub doesn’t have their cub uniform by Monday just have them wear their full beaver uniform.

Morning all,

Here in Douglas & St. FinBarre’s Scout group, we’re implementing an online payment system for the group, through a company called Easy Payments Plus.

We’re excited by it, we feel it will give both us and you an easier way to pay & track payments.

In the next short while, you should receive an email from the system, allowing you to activate your account.  You should do this – it’s NOT spam!

We KNOW that there may be teething problems while we role this out – please bear with us.  We feel it’ll be really worth it on everybody’s part.

Come back with any queries,

Enda.
