Hi There,

For the Mount Melleray Weekend, we’re trying to make things easier for all!  With the numbers travelling, departure and arrival becomes more complex all the time.  In an effort at having an easy life, can we suggest that people would park on the LEFT side of the car park in FrankField only?  This will leave the right side free for the coaches.

Further details will be posted soon with more information, times etc.

FField Parking

Thanks in advance for your help!

Seasons Greetings to you all

On behalf of the Group Council, the Section Leaders and all our active Scouters I would like to wish you and your families and very happy and peaceful Christmas.

Our scouting has come to an end for the calendar year of our 2015 and we have had another fantastic 12 months here in the Douglas & St. FinBarres Scout Group.

A brilliant summer camp in Cavan for our Scouts and Ventures last July and looking forward to what promises to be an unbelievable experience next July in Austria.

Our newest sections, the 93rd Cork Beaver Colony and 93rd Cork Cub Scout Pack are now up and running and will continue to grow and learn and bring Scouting to many more kids in our parish and from further afield.

Thank you to the work of our Parents & Friends Committee for their efforts in 2015. Many thanks to the parents of our youth members who encourage their kids and bring them to the many varied activities we offer.

Most importantly thank you and seasons greetings to all our youth members; From our eldest Venture Scout to our youngest Beaver Scout we hope that 2016 will be as much of an adventure for you as 2015 has

Yours In Scouting,

Conor Crowley

SUPPORTING SCOUTING IN YOUR COMMUNITY

Over the last week our sections have been given their batches of their 12 Days of Christmas Draw tickets. These tickets are Scouting Irelands annual fundraiser. All proceeds go to support local scouting and the development of Scouting Ireland national campsites.

Tickets are €2 each and each family is given a book of 20 tickets. If you require additional tickets please speak with your section leader to arrange them; additional books will be issued once a full sold book has been returned.

Our Parents & Friends Committee are coordinating this years tickets distribution and organisation. In order to return the tickets back to SI National Office in time for the draw we are requesting that ALL books of tickets (sold or unsold) must be returned to the Scout Hall on Friday December 4th at the latest

Best of luck and thank you for your support

Yours In Scouting,

Stephen Granleese

Cork South Scout County – Annual Giving Ceremony 2015

Posted by Admin | Posted in 2nd Beavers, 2nd Cubs, 2nd Scouts, 47th Beavers, 47th Cubs, 47th Scouts, 6th Beavers, 6th Cubs, 6th Scouts, 93rd Beavers, 93rd Cubs, Venture News | Posted on 16-11-2015

The county annual giving ceremony will be a carol service held in St Marys Church, Passage West on Wed 2/12/2015.
All groups are asked to be seated for 7.00pm. This is the only event in our entire year when all sections of all groups in the Cork South County get together for an event.
It would be really great to get as many of our county together for this one time.
It is also a great event where our beavers, cubs, scouts, ventures and rovers get to help young people in the Cork area who are not as fortunate as them.
For anyone who has not been to this event before the idea is that each of your youth members attend in full uniform and bring with them a gift for another child, the gift should be wrapped and marked on the outside to say whether it is suitable for a boy or girl and the approximate age it is meant for.  The gifts will be taken up during the night.
We are going to have Christmas carols and a couple of short readings.
Please contact your section leader to confirm your attendance
