Beaver in the Hills
Date: 10th March
Time: 9am – 17:30 Location:
Torc Killarney (if weather is bad Muckross House to Dinish Cottage i.e. circuit of the lakes and meeting of the waters)
Torc is a moderate walk. The walk commences on the flat out the old Kenmare Road on the Kerry Way. Approx 1.5 km from the Car Park there is a clear definied path to the right to take you up the mountain. The walk contains many railway sleepers over the conditions so it is a walk NOT a climb. It will take approx 2.5 – 3 hours to get to the top and approx 1.5 hours to get down. We should be back at the Car park at approx 4:00pm with a food stop.
Transport has been arranged: A pick up will be based on the numbers involved we will all probably meet in a central location and go from there.
As a note – this hike can count towards the Hillwalking Adventure skills badges and Beavers should be able to know what to pack in their own bag for the badge. A novelty woggle will be given to each Beaver who attends.

Well folks it’s short notice but we’re going to have a Group Christmas Campfire.
Our Beaver Scouts were meant to have been taking part in the County Beaver Campfire but we’ve been informed that it’s not going ahead so we’ve decided that the Douglas Sections will get together on the one night and have a Campfire of our own.
