Posted by Eoin Field | Posted in 6th Cubs | Posted on 29-10-2015

Hi All,we have 2 events coming up .

1. Chief cub scout award plus new cubs investiture on Monday 9th .We will be giving a brief run down on whats involved in this award for any that might be interested. Parents are invited for teas and coffees at 8 o clock . Cubs will start as usual at 7.
Full uniform ironed is important with black socks and black shoes or runners . The commissioner for cubs will be attending to present the award and kenckerchiefs back after investiture.

2. Saturday14th November is part of the air badge that we are hoping to complete this year and this will be a bus trip to Shannon air adventures where there will be some classroom talk about the basics of flying followed by a tour of the actual planes and also a simulator experience on flying a plane .
Probably leaving about 8:30am on the saturday from the hall and returning approx at 4 .Packed lunch and cost looks like 25 Euro each.

I have heard its a great experience from other cub packs up the country. The benefits of networking :)

We would need to know numbers by Monday please so as we can book the bus and places in Shannon or simply reply to this mail.

As we get closer to Christmas also just a reminder that we will have the annual 12 days of Christmas ticket sales and also the ” bring a gift ” ceremony. So if you wanted to keep this in mind and have something small wrapped ( and marked with an age suitable for the toy )and ready maybe over the next few weeks in preparation for the ceremony in December.

Don’t forget to like our facebook page for uptodate info.

Thanking you

As is stands the gear is ready for the bus, tents are ready for the cars and quite a bit of the food has been bought and is ready to be packed.

Thanks to a number of leaders who are travelling up on Friday morning a lot of the pitching and shopping will be done by the time we arrive.

Reminder that the bus will depart at 15:45 (Sorry, but we cannot wait for late arrivals)

For safety reasons due to the numbers going parking will only be permitted in the back car park and then walk out to the front carpark with your child and their gear and wait to get it on the bus.

As already requested please ensure your Cub Scoit has had their dinner on Friday before getting on the bus.

Please pack a healthy supper with a refilable bottle of water in a small bag for Friday evening. No food is to be consumed on the bus so we will stop for our packed lunches on the way up and enjoy some hot chocolate and biscuits once we arrive on Friday night. All meals after that are provided.

Final reminder please do not provide your Cub Scout with any fizzy drinks or sweets/unhealthy snacks for the weekend
