Starting on Monday night, October 22nd, Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts, Ventures and Rovers will receive their initial book of tickets for the Twelve Days of Christmas Draw 2012.
This is an opportunity for our Group to raise some much needed funds through the proceeds of this draw. Each Beaver Scout, Cub Scout, Scout, Venture Scout and Rover will be allocated a book of tickets to sell.
The tickets are €2 each and are sold in books of 20 tickets.
Please note that ALL tickets must be returned to your section leader on or by the deadline to ensure that purchased tickets (or buyers) are given the opportunity of being entered into the draw. Unsold tickets must also be returned to the section leader to be handed back to the National Office as failure to do this is a violation of the terms of Scouting Irelands Lottery License.
We are required to have all tickets (sold or unsold) back to National Office by Friday December 7th so we are asking that all Douglas Scout members have their tickets back to their section leader no later than Friday November 30th
100% of the proceeds of the tickets sold go to the Group so this is an excellent opportunity to raise much needed funds. In the case of the Scouts and Ventures going on Camp to Karlstejn, Czech Republic in August 2013, any 2nd and subsequent books of tickets sold will go towards their fee for Camp as was announced at the Camp 2013 Parents Information night on Wednesday 17th last.
If as a parent, or group of parents, you are ever willing to take on a fund raising project for our Group in the next few months please speak with a section leader and we will give you what support we can.
Like all voluntary organisations we rely on the most generous good will of our members, friends and families as national funds dry up. In our particular case we have another more serious problem with the boiler in our Scout hall again and the problems with our roof have continued and need our attention urgently.
Thank you for taking the time in reading this and good luck with selling the tickets and good luck to anyone who buys a ticket, it would be nice to read of a winner that we know!!
Yours In Scouting,
Conor Crowley
