47th Scouts Torc Mountain Hike

Finish Point: Torc waterfall lower carpark, Killarney

Note:

  • Ensure your scout has a good breakfast
  • We will do a quick gear check before leaving the meeting point.

Hike Gear Needed

  • Neckerchief
  • Hiking boots – ground is uneven and wet, so boots are a must.
  • Rain gear – Jacket with hood & water proof trousers
  • Hiking trousers – No jeans or cotton tracksuits!
  • Thermals / skins
  • Warm clothes – Multi light layers are best
  • Hat & Gloves
  • Torch & spare batteries
  • Bivvy bag or large heavy duty refuse sack
  • Food and Drink to bring:
    Healthy packed lunch
    Water – 1 ltr minimum
    Healthy snacks to have during hike.
  • Change of clothes in seperate bag:
    Shoes + warm hoody for after hike.
    Can be left in leaders car boot.

  • 1st aid kit
  • Whistle
  • Compass
  • Gaiters
  • Walking poles
