Breaking news…. We just announced the location for Scout & Venture Scout Camp 2016

It’s going to be Elmen, Austria

Every few years we arrange a ‘once in a lifetime’ location for Camp and this year we decided to head to Austria.

Following our very positive experience with using the tour company JEKA for Czech Republic back in 2013 we decided to go with them again for 2016

  • When is Camp 2016?
  • Departing on Thursday June 30th 2016 and arriving back on Wednesday July 13th  (All subject to change but if these dates do change it’ll only by a day or two)
  • How much will it cost?
  • Camp 2016 has a ‘cost’ of €900 per person
This can be reduced however with fundraising efforts arranged specifically for those going on Camp
This will also be reduced by the sale of the 12 days of Christmas tickets (first full book sold comes back to the group, and every subsequent full book sold comes off your camp fee)
  • How are we traveling?
  • By coach! (Not just any ould bus either, a very nice coach complete with DVD screens, air conditioning and other comforts)
  • Departing Douglas, heading for Rosslare then to Cherbourg, across France, into Germany and then down into Austria
  • How do we get our tents and troop gear out there?
  • We don’t! This is summer camp with a difference, we won’t be in tents, instead we have our own hostel to stay in for the duration of camp (exclusively for ourselves)
  • How do I secure my place? What do I do now?
  • Because of space on the coach places are going to be limited this year
We require a non refundable deposit of €50 to be handed up to one of the Scout or Venutre Scout Leaders. You can do this at any of the Scout or Venture Scout meetings (you don’t have to wait for your own section meeting) and once your place is secure we’ll have stage payment dates set over the next few months
Beaver and Cub Scout leaders WILL NOT be accepting deposits
