Beaver Scout Sleepover

Posted by Admin | Posted in 2nd Beavers, 6th Beavers | Posted on 24-10-2014

On Saturday November 8th two of our three Beaver colonies will be having a sleepover in the Scout hall.

Exact times and cost will be announced shortly but please save this date if the Beavers Scout in your world attends either the 6th Cork (Tuesday nights) or 2nd Cork (Thursday nights) meetings.

This is an exciting time for the newest of our members and we encourage everyone to attend. A great night is expected.

In a few months times there’ll be another overnight activity but will involve travelling; to allow Beaver scouts attend that overnight away in a few months they MUST have completed an overnight in the hall first.

More details soon but while we’re all on midterm it would be great if you can let your leaders know if you can attend.

The weekend of our Spike Island Group Activity is almost upon us. Final preparations have been completed and the leadership team have put a massive amount of planning and effort into this weekend and it’ll all be worth it.

This is the highest number of members we’ve had attend a Group activity and it’s brilliant to have the support of the parents and members of our group when things like this are organised; I hope it’s a sign of things to come when individual sections arrange activities in the next few months

You can download a 2014/15 activities consent form by clicking here

If you’ve any last minute questions please contact your section leader, otherwise see you on Saturday

Kayaking for Beavers

Posted by Admin | Posted in 47th Beavers, 6th Beavers | Posted on 30-05-2014

Hey Folks

The 6th (Tuesday) and 47th (Friday) beavers are going Kayaking in SailCork in East Ferry on Sunday 15th June.
The 47th are going to be there for the morning session and the 6th will be there for the afternoon session.

Location is Sail Cork in East Ferry. For detailed instructions follow the link below
http://www.sailcork.com/index.php/location

The cost is €20 per scout.
The 47th will start at 10:00 am. We will be off the water by 1:00pm but we will feed the lads some sausages both veggie and meaty (standard scout fare) for lunch. Parents – you can pick up your 47th scout anytime up to 2:00pm.
The 6th will be on the water for 2:00pm BUT we think it would be lovely for them to get there and have a joint lunch with the other section at 1:00pm. They should be off the water and ready for collection by 5:00pm.

Can you please let me (Dara) know by Tuesday 3rd June AND Eoin and Deborah (6th) ALSO by Tuesday 3rd June.  €20 to be paid to 6th(Tuesday) by 10th June and 47th(Friday) by 6th June.

Just to be clear, we are NOT organising a bus from the scout hall for the event. It should only take 13 minutes from Fota Scout Center to get to East Ferry so it is not very far.

6th Cork Beaver Scouts (Tuesday Nights)

Posted by Admin | Posted in 6th Beavers | Posted on 16-05-2014

Thanks to all of the parents for your co-operation and patience last Tuesday night whilst we were organising the names and nights for the Beaver Scouts to go onto their next stage in their Scouting journey and onto Cub Scouts.

Over the next few weeks I will be focusing on their excellent behaviour and teamwork over the last few years and we are arranging a part to congratulate the Beaver Scouts great work and fabulous efforts. I will be hoping to do this party on June 3rd and will send on details as soon as this is organised.

Thank you also to the parents for working closely with us all the time and the effort you make in bringing them on their journey through Scouting.

Yours In Scouting,

Deborah Long
