Well fellow Scouts, Scouters and Friends,

We’re back for another year in Douglas Scouting and we hope you will be coming back to join us and those of you in our Scout, Venture and Rover sections might even bring along some friends

• All our sections are back as follows:
• Douglas Beavers (6,7,8): Friday 16th September – Waiting list for new members
• 6th Cub Scouts (9,10,11): Monday 5th September – Waiting list for new members
• 47th Cub Scouts (9,10,11): Friday 9th September – Waiting list for new members
• 6th Scouts (12,13,14): Wednesday 7th September – New members welcome so come on down!
• 47th Scouts (12,13,14): Monday 12th September – New members welcome so come on down!
• Douglas Ventures (15,16,17): Wednesday 31st August – New members welcome so come on down!
• Douglas Rovers (18-26): Friday 9th September – New members welcome so come on down!

As you can see from the above we have waiting lists in place for our Beaver Colony and both our Cub Scout Sections. If you have been on the current waiting list you will hear from us in the next week to confirm your place.

Due to the numbers on the Beaver waiting list we are looking into the possibility of starting up a second colony but can only mange this if we get additional leaders and adult support. If you think you might be interested please contact the Group Leader Conor Crowley by email: conorcrowley@douglasscouts.ie and all the details you need will be supplied

This year brings Douglas into its 60th year in Scouting and we are planning an evening for current and former friends and families in October – More details shortly

We are bag packing, to raise badly needed funds for the Group, in Dunnes Stores, Douglas Court on Friday night 2nd September and Saturday 3rd September. People collecting must be aged 14 and over so we need Scout, Venture, Rover and parent support for this event. Can you spare us 2 hours during these days? Please contact your section leader as soon as possible and lend us a hand!
